Day 6 Whim Creek to Point Samson- 110 kms

Mark liked to soak his feet in every river.
The scarf across the mouth was to keep the flies out whilst riding.
Martin is trying to catch those riders up ahead.

My God this heat is terrible. I rode only 30 kms today & struggled most of the way- Collis said that’s because on previous days I had the tail wind but I think it was because there was a bit of alcohol drunk the night before. I did most of the packing before I took off today so the other 2 crew were able to finish off. The buggers then took their time at camp having a cup of tea & playing with the ice machine while I was waiting impatiently out on the hot road.
Signs we are getting closer to the coast.
Swans in the outback???
Everybody loves a full river.

They actually arrived with quite a bit of ice that was appreciated by all the riders. Gayle greets all riders at stops with a spray bottle & sprays everyone down- they love it!! Gayle is the gadget lady & Rob is the gadget guy- they both love gadgets & come up with all sorts of innovations. The back seat of the car looks a bit like an opp shop this trip & many an enjoyable hour is spent by Gayle sorting through her collection of bits & pieces.

Not much in Roebourne but the people were nice.

The boys were interested in how far we were riding.

Jerry was very upset after he was approached by a young 20 something aboriginal woman who asked- "Have you got $2.00 on ya POPs". The ego was slightly deflated.
We have reached a small paradise town (according to Martin) & we are staying in a great caravan park right on the beach. Tomorrow is a rest day.
