Day 21- Hamelin Pool to Billabong 85 kms

Water- yes please!!

Usual morning departure today with no changes in the order of riders. We didn't have a morning tea break for the late runners today as it was such a short day. They were fine with this and carried extra food for themselves. Norm met up with the early runners before they rode into the Billabong Roadhouse.

We were staying at the caravan park which was behind the pub- I had told everyone that we would be staying at the roadhouse- OOPS!! Once again no grass to camp on but the park was under new management and they had only moved in 5 days prior our stay. The new manager knew about our booking- miracles of miracles- and told us we could use as much of the camp as we felt we needed.

Norm's flynet!!

Collis & I went for a lunch at the pub which was not all that successful as his hamburger was not cooked properly and was still partly frozen on the inside- we had to send it back and it was replaced with a slightly better hamburger- still not up to the standard we have come to expect.

These nests are still around.

John & Theo went to the pub for dinner and were sorely disappointed whereas all the other riders went to the roadhouse and had "the best meals for the ride". The usual riders cooked at camp with Collis & I among them. A small group went to the roadhouse to play cards after dinner but had to return when they shut their doors at 8 pm.

The night was quite noisey with all the trucks going down the highway most of the night- it felt like they were going to join us in the car.
